Chapter One

Wildkit padded to the edge of the clearing, towards the warriors' den. Carefully and steadily, his feet softly touched the wet moss smoothering the ground below, he drooped his tiny tail and perked his ears high, high, above. He sunk his head below the ugly weeds that had begun to sprout, his ears still perked, and waited. None of the warriors stirred in their nests. Bearkit, Stonekit, and Daisykit were busily playing a highly competitive game of mossball.  Bearkit and Daisykit were quarreling over who should have won.
"Cheater, cheater! Daisykit's a big fat cheater!" exclaimed Bearkit.
"Nu-uh! You're just jealous that I won and you lost!" retorted Daisykit
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Guys," said Stonekit,"Fighting like this is not the answer! We should use other methods to solve this."
"You're right! Daisykit, I challenge you! Loser is crowfood!"
Bearkit hurled himself at Daisykit before Stonekit could say anymore. Claws flashed, groans and cries were heard, and snickers were given as they fought.
"Give it up! You cheated! Just admit it!"
"Never!"
Daisykit bared her teeth and sunk it into Bearkit's shoulder as he tried to retreat. She kicked him from behind and tackled him to the ground. Her eyes were full of triumph as she looked down to see him panting and out of breath.
Bearkit lunged at Daisykit just then with his fangs glinting in the sunlight and sank it into her neck. She dodged the bite and jumped onto his back, but he easily threw her off. He swatted her face with his paws and ran.
"COWARD!" she yelled
Stonekit still sat there, his gaze pacifistic.
"I will get Mother." he calmly told his littermate before disappearing into the nursery. A few moments later he exited, followed by Mintleaf.
"Fighting! I thought I told you two to get along!"
"But Mama, Daisykit cheated and she wouldn't admit it!" Bearkit suddenly appeared from the reeds that surrounded the middle of the camp.
"Is this true?" Mintleaf questioned.
"No- ok, maybe a little."
"Oh really. A little?"
"Ok fine. I did cheat and I'm sorry. But Bearkit, why did you have to start this huge fight? I was almost injured!"
"I-I was j-just mad, that's all. I didn't want to hurt you!"
"Now let's go inside. Come along Stonekit."
"Oh no thanks! I'm helping Spiderpaw and his mentor!"
"I didn't say you had a choice!"
"Fine." Stonekit grumbled as he followed his littermates into the den.
Wildkit almost cried at the sight. I love how well my Clanmates get along.
Wildkit perked his ears to make sure the warriors were still asleep, and carefully made his way toward the entrance.
